Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has reaffirmed his commitment to party workers, stating that they are the backbone of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and that it is his responsibility to stand by those who have sacrificed for the party. “I will be like an elder son to every such family,” he said during a meeting with the family members of slain TDP leader Venna Balakotireddy, the former Rompicherla mandal president who was allegedly murdered during the previous YSRCP regime.

As part of his continued outreach, Lokesh has decided to personally meet party workers and address their issues directly. In line with this initiative, he invited Balakotireddy’s family to his residence in Undavalli and talked to them.

Venna Balakotireddy, hailing from Alavalapadu village, was a staunch party worker who dedicated over four decades of his life to the TDP and public service. Allegedly unable to tolerate his growing influence, YSRCP-backed goons, reportedly under the protection of then-MLA Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy, fatally shot him while he was asleep at his residence.

Lokesh interacted with Balakotireddy’s widow Venna Nagendramma, and his nephews Venna Narasimhareddy and Venna Ramakrishnareddy, listening to their grievances. The family expressed distress that the accused were still roaming free and requested a full investigation and strict punishment.

Responding to their concerns, Lokesh assured the family of full and lifelong support. He promised to resolve pending government dues, help release their mortgaged home, and ensure justice by pursuing the murder case until the culprits are punished.

The family members expressed their gratitude to the Minister for standing by them during their time of need and for his unwavering support to TDP cadre affected by political violence.
