Will stand by people: Minister Lokesh

Minister for Human Resources Development, IT Electronics & Communication and RTG Nara Lokesh has assured the people that he will stand by those who are in trouble. A large number of people from Mangalagiri and other parts of the State attended the Praja Darbar held at a residence in Undavalli on Wednesday. The minister assured that no one should be discouraged and steps will be taken to solve the problems quickly. The staff was instructed to receive petitions from everyone and send them to the departments concerned.
The staff of the mid-day meal scheme working in Pedavadlapudi Government School of Mangalagiri constituency appealed to Nara Lokesh to increase the honorarium. They are currently being paid Rs 3,000 per month and they have requested to increase it from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. They said that no additional charges are paid for preparing Ragi malt and boiled eggs in schools and have to bear the LPG cost from their salary money. They further brought to the notice of Lokesh that salaries are not being paid properly and the work pressure is also high.
Later, Lokesh said that quality meals will be provided to students of government schools. He enquired about the current menu offered to the students in the mid-day meal. He also asked the workers who met him to give details about what kind of menu the students would like.
During Praja Darbar, Manchala Sitaramaiah and Obulamma, a couple from Chinakaka of Mangalagiri, appealed to Lokesh to grant them pension and support them.
Butta Panakalu of Mangalagiri, a goldsmith, said that he was confined to his house due to illness and asked to grant pension and support him.
Alapati Suresh Kumar of Undavalli appealed to provide financial assistance to his daughter who is studying MBBS abroad through the Abroad Education scheme. S Ramesh, visually disabled from Sitanagara, requested that he be given a four-wheeled two-wheeler. ASHA workers in Mangalagiri town demanded equal work for equal pay, steps to reduce work pressure and leave. Lokesh assured them that he will solve all the problems.
