AP State Planning Board Vice-Chairman Malladi Vishnu has stated that the Planning Board works with the aim of eradicating poverty in the State. On Friday, he entered his new chamber with the blessings of Vedic scholars.
While speaking to media persons, Vishnu thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for appointing him as Planning Board vice-chairman. He said the Planning Board would implement the Navaratnalu schemes in a planned manner and ensure that the benefits of the schemes reached every beneficiary. He also made it clear that he would try his best to achieve the 17 sustainable development goals set by the State government for the comprehensive development of the State.
Vishnu stated that the Planning Board would successfully implement the Navaratnalu scheme and other development and welfare projects introduced by the State government with the aim of poverty alleviation through the system of Village/ Ward Secretariats. The Planning Board will provide appropriate instructions and advise the respective departments and divisions to facilitate proper implementation of various schemes and check the progress achieved at each stage.
He further said that the Planning Board would pay special attention to get the funds from the Centre for the comprehensive development of the backward districts on time and would monitor the work undertaken with the funds of Rs 2 crore released for the development of the Assembly constituency for each member of the legislature. Vishnu stated that the State Planning Board was working towards better development with special focus on the development of infrastructure.
State Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh, former Deputy Speaker Kona Raghupathi, former Minister Vellampalli Srinivas, Vijayawada City Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, officials of the State Planning Board, corporators of VMC and others were present.
