Will YSRCP pick Vangaveeti Radha for Bandar LS seat?

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is yet to finalise key Assembly and Lok Sabha segment appointments, indicating struggles in identifying suitable candidates for several Lok Sabha seats and frequent experimentation with candidate reshuffling.
Speculation within the party suggests the potential replacement of the candidate for the Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat. A month ago, party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced Avanigadda MLA Simhadri Ramesh Babu as the candidate.
Despite Ramesh Babu’s preference for contesting Assembly elections, Jagan insisted on his candidacy for the Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency. However, recent developments hint at the possibility of Jagan relocating him once again.
Reports suggest discussions within the YSRCP leadership involving former MLA and TDP leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, known for his influence among the Kapu community, to join the ruling party.
Vangaveeti did not secure a spot in the initial list of candidates released by the TDP-Jana Sena Party coalition this week. He had anticipated a ticket from either Vijayawada (Central) or Vijayawada (East), constituencies he previously represented. However, these seats were allocated to Bonda Uma and Gadde Rammohan Rao, respectively, by TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu. Vijayawada Central is likely to be assigned to the Jana Sena Party, although ex-MLA Jaleel Khan poses a significant challenge.
Feeling overlooked by the TDP leadership and disheartened by the lack of communication regarding his political future, Vangaveeti is reportedly considering rejoining the YSRCP.
Close associates from the YSRCP, including Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) and Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani), have engaged in discussions with Vangaveeti, extending an invitation to join the party. However, they cannot guarantee him a ticket from Vijayawada, as candidates have already been selected for all three constituencies.
In light of this, YSRCP leaders have proposed Vangaveeti’s name for the Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat. Whether Vangaveeti will accept this proposal remains unclear. Sources suggest that if he does, his defection to the YSRCP is imminent.
