Winter session may raise political temp

Must read

The winter session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council may heat up the state with its heated debates. The Assembly is meeting from December 9 onwards.
The Congress Government is unveiling the Telangana Talli Statue on the same day on the Secretariat premises and conducting celebrations in connection with its first anniversary in power.
Meanwhile, the main opposition BRS and the BJP are getting ready to corner the state government by raising issues about paddy procurement, implementation of election promises like Rythu Bharosa, enhancing pensions and many other unfulfilled promises given by the Congress.
Opposition leader BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao may not attend the winter session. It may be recalled here that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently challenged his predecessor to come to the Assembly and participate in debates.
However, BRS leaders KT Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao will take the lead  on behalf of the main opposition party in the absence of their leader KCR.
In fact, the Legislature Secretariat issued a notification as Governor Jishnu Dev Varma summoned the third Telangana Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council to meet for the fourth session from 10.30 am on Monday, that is, December 9.
The government is getting ready to pass the ROR Act–2024 in the winter session besides conducting debates on Rythu Bharosa, HYDRAA, caste census, farmers’ issues and the achievements of the government.

The Congress government is completing its first anniversary on December 7. Due to this, the House is likely to witness heated exchanges between the treasury benches and the opposition on various issues.

The Assembly authorities have started installing barricades and other arrangements for the winter session. The job of installing barricades in front of the Assembly gate commenced on Wednesday.
