Women empowerment is key to economic growth

Bhadradri District Collector Jitesh V Patel said that Mahila Shakti Scheme was designed to empower women and provide financially stable.
He was participating in Mahila Shakti Scheme Awareness conference organised by the District Rural Development Organisation at the IDOC office on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector explained that the government has launched the Mahila Shakti Scheme with the intention of providing livelihood. He stressed the need to make the scheme a success in the districts. He explained that various types of industries would be established through self-cooperative societies and thus the scheme would help the advancement of women.
He said that women’s associations would succeed only if they can choose a right industry to set up.  It is suggested that small industries can be successful by extensively marketing products produced. He suggested that women can achieve economic development by establishing small scale industries.  For this, he promised to provide necessary training to women’s groups for setting up any small scale industries. MPDOs and APMs of all the mandals were directed not to put pressure on the women’s groups to achieve the goals, but to encourage them to set up industries.
DRDO Vidyachandana, ZP CEO Chandrasekhar, District Agriculture Department Officer Baburao, Horticulture Department Officer Surya narayana, Animal Husbandry Department Officer Puran dareshwar and MPDOs, APM, Mahila Sangha members, community coordinators, office bearers and others participated in this programme.
