Women stage dharna in front of PS

A group of women barged into the town police station here on Monday and later staged a dharna in front of the police station in protest against the indifference in resolving the missing woman Aishwarya.

According to the police, Aishwarya belongs to Kunaparaju Parva village and she got married to Rajkumar about three months ago. They lived in Vattigudipadu village. Raj Kumar started harassing her for more dowry.

The parents of Aishwarya went to Vattigudipadu village to bring her daughter but they did not find her in the house. They immediately lodged a complaint with the town police station.

The police brought Raj Kumar to the police station for questioning. Getting information that Raj Kumar was in the police station, a group of people, mostly women, went to the police station, barged into it, and picked up an argument with the police personnel demanding to show them, Raj Kumar.

When the incident was taking place, the police officials were in a meeting in the DSP’s office. After getting information about the women barging into the police station, CI Murthy and SI Shiva Narayana rushed there and pacified the agitating women. However, the women staged a dharna in front of the police station disrupting the vehicular traffic on the road.
