Women voters outnumber male counterparts in Eluru district

As per the new voters list, which was released here on Monday by Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh, Eluru district has a total number of 16,24,216 voters and women voters have outnumbered men voters.
Giving details of the voters list to the media, the Collector said that there are 16,24,216 total voters in the district of which 7,93,897 are male voters and 8,30,390 women voters. There are 129 transgender voters also in the district.
The Collector said that after the special revision 2024 of the voters list was prepared which was released today. After the revision of the voters list, 35,794 new voters were added to the voters list.
The officials received 95,943 applications through Forum-6 of which 93,018 applications were resolved and 2925 were rejected. He said that 60,875 applications were received through Forum-7 of which 57,224 were resolved.
The Collector said that 27,347 names of deceased voters were removed from the voters list. As many as 21,904 voters migrated to other places permanently and their names were removed from the list. As many as 7973 duplications of names were also identified, the Collector added.
Pranna Venkatesh said that there are 1743 polling stations in the district for which all basic amenities including drinking water, toilets and electricity were provided. Joint Collector B Lavanya Veni, DRO M Venkateswrlu, ZP CEO K Subba Rao and RDO NSK Khajavali were among those who were present.
