BRS MPs moved an adjournment motion demanding the passing of the Women’s Reservation Bill. Moving the adjournment motion the MPs requested to organise an all-party meeting to discuss the Bill.
In the notice issued to the Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha, MP Maloth Kavitha said, “I hereby, give notice of my intention to ask for permission to move a motion for the adjournment of the business of the House for discussing a definite matter of urgent importance, namely, taking up discussion on the demand to Pass Women’s Reservation Bill.”
MLC Kavitha from the BRS had earlier this month staged a day-long protest at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding the introduction of the Women’s Reservation Bill.
The Bharat Jagruthi led by MLC Kavitha organised a round table conference in New Delhi which was attended by 15 political parties, civil society organisations and the student community.
MLC Kavitha-led Bharat Jagruthi will soon launch a ‘Missed Call Campaign’ to support the demand for the Women’s Reservation Bill.
Along with the campaign, there will also be round table discussions in colleges and universities across India to discuss the need for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill. The budgetary process in the Parliament’s budget session was completed on Monday with the two Houses passing the Finance Bill 2023 amid protests by opposition members over their demand for a joint parliamentary probe into the Adani issue.
Sources said the opposition decided on Monday to continue their ‘black’ protest on Tuesday against the BJP-led government over the disqualification of Rahul and a final decision over the issue will be taken in the morning.
