Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) announced that Visakhapatnam’s ACA-VDCA Stadium will host five matches of the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup, along with a likely Women’s ODI.
The announcement was made during the ACA’s 72nd Annual General Body Meeting held in Vijayawada on Sunday.
Sivanath highlighted ACA’s rapid infrastructure upgrades, revealing that the Visakhapatnam stadium was modernised within 45 days ahead of the IPL. Though ACA had requested four IPL matches, only two were granted due to scheduling issues.
However, ICC Chairman Jay Shah reportedly praised the stadium and proposed more matches for Vizag in future.
In a major boost for grassroots cricket, ACA plans to establish cricket grounds in all 25 districts within two years, in coordination with the state government. Grounds in Kurnool and Nellore.
