Gannavaram MLA and Government Whip Yarlagadda Venkata Rao criticised Pulivendula MLA and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging he avoids Assembly sessions to evade facing Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Addressing the gathering at former MLA Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga Rao’s death anniversary at Ramavarappadu near Vijayawada on Thursday, Venkata Rao claimed Jagan lacks the courage to confront the ruling party in the Assembly.
Venkata Rao also questioned Jagan’s right to conduct the Praja Darbar, asserting that he lacks the public mandate to serve as Opposition Leader. He dismissed Jagan’s claims that the TDP prevents him from raising issues in the Assembly, calling them baseless. Furthermore, he highlighted the absence of official Opposition status for YSRCP in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, questioning their continued presence in Parliament.
Separately, former Vijayawada East MLA Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga Rao’s death anniversary was observed in the NTR and Krishna districts. Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad and Ranga’s son, former MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, participated in commemorative events organised by Radha Mitramandali and Ranga Yuva Sena near Ranga’s statue in Vijayawada.

Speaking at the event, Radhakrishna remarked that Ranga remains a revered figure among his followers and urged everyone to uphold his ideals and vision.
