In the recent rankings released by NITI Aayog, highlighting the best-performing Aspirational districts in India, YSR district from Andhra Pradesh has secured a prominent position among the top five districts. The report titled “Prospering districts, Prospering Country” recognises YSR District as one of the most improved ‘Aspirational Districts’ in the country. According to the Delta Ranking report by NITI Aayog, YSR district has been identified as a champion of change. The first and second positions in the rankings were secured by Soreng in Sikkim and Hailakandi in Assam, respectively.
YSR district earned this recognition by effectively implementing the convergence of Central government and State government schemes. Additionally, it has demonstrated successful collaboration among Central and State-level Nodal Officers, as well as District Collectors.
The Aspirational Districts Programme was initiated in 2018 with the objective of rapidly and efficiently transforming 112 of the most underdeveloped districts across the country.
