TDP chief vows to complete ‘Handri-Neeva’ project in 1 year after assuming power
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, during a public meeting at Gudupalli on the first day of his three-day visit to Kuppam constituency, accused the YSRCP of turning the employment guarantee scheme (NREGS) into a lucrative enterprise for its leaders and workers.
Naidu claimed that bills were being cashed in without completion of work.
Expressing concern over the delay in the Handri-Neeva project’s completion, Naidu vowed to expedite the remaining phases within one year of the TDP assuming power. He highighted that while the project had been finished from Srisailam to Ramakuppam, the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, had not taken steps to conclude the outstanding sections in the past five years.
Naidu urged voters to unite and secure a substantial victory for Kuppam in the upcoming elections, emphasising his commitment to creating a poverty-free state. Grateful for the support of the Kuppam community over the past 35 years, Naidu pledged to recover funds
allegedly misused in the Employment Guarantee scheme once TDP forms the government.
Reflecting on the developmental initiatives during the TDP’s tenure, Naidu questioned the current government’s performance in Kuppam. He promised to boost the local dairy industry and implement the Super Six, assuring women in the area a monthly allowance of Rs 15,000 under the Maha Lakshmi scheme and the distribution of three free cooking
gas cylinders .
