‘YSRC govt spent Rs. 32,000 crore on Kapu welfare’

Andhra Pradesh State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation Chairman Adapa Seshagiri (Seshu) has said that the State government is implementing several welfare schemes apart from the ‘YSRCP Kapu Nestam’ scheme. During the three-and-a-half years of the YSRCP ruling, around Rs. 32,000 crore has been spent for the welfare of the Kapu people, he said.

Addressing media persons at his office at Tadepalli near Vijayawada on Monday, he said that a plan of action would be readied for the construction of Kapu Bhavan in every district. As of now, Anantapur, Nellore, and Visakhapatnam have Kapu Bhavans.

He further said that the previous TDP government had spent Rs.1,400 crore for the development of Kapus whereas the YSRCP government has already spent more than Rs.32,000 crore. About Rs.500 crore per year would be spent for five years for the scheme Kapu Nestham. However, the Opposition TDP is always criticising the YSRCP government, he alleged.
