Speaking at a campaign event in Vijayawada, YSRCPโs Vijayawada MP candidate Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) highlighted the impactful measures undertaken by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddyโs administration. He praised the collaborative effort between CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and Devineni Avinash, which resulted in the construction of a retaining wall costing Rs 500 crore. This initiative aims to safeguard over 1.5 lakh impoverished residents of the East constituency from flooding.
Nani lauded Avinashโs dedication to development, emphasising that even without holding an MLA position, he has significantly contributed to the constituencyโs progress. He expressed confidence that Avinash, as an MLA, would further enhance the areaโs development. The campaign, featuring Nani, Devineni Avinash, Deputy Mayor Bellam Durga, and party leaders, canvassed door-to-door in the 15th Division on Sunday.
Nani criticised former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of deviating from the partyโs principles. He alleged that Naiduโs governance favoured the wealthy over the impoverished, citing instances of corruption and neglect of the underprivileged. Nani contrasted Naiduโs record with CM Jagan Mohan Reddyโs, asserting that the latter has allocated an unprecedented Rs 2.70 lakh crores for welfare schemes across the state.
He also lambasted the previous TDP-BJP-Janasena coalition for failing to fulfil their manifesto promises, labelling their pledges as mere scraps of paper.
Referring to the lack of progress in securing special status for Andhra Pradesh, Nani criticized Naiduโs alliance with the BJP and questioned the benefits accrued to the state. He accused Naidu of compromising Telugu pride for personal gains and shielding himself and his son, Lokesh, from legal scrutiny. Nani predicted a resounding victory for YSRCP and Devineni Avinash in the East constituency, confidently anticipating a margin exceeding 25,000 votes.
Aiming Pawan Kalyan, Nani accused him of betraying party loyalists and aligning with the BJP in the Vijayawada West seat. He highlighted the contrast between CM Jagan Mohan Reddyโs administration, which created six lakh jobs, and Naiduโs tenure, which yielded a mere 39,000 jobs. Nani framed the upcoming election as a choice between empowering the wealthy under Naidu or prioritizing the welfare of the poor and middle class under CM Jagan Mohan Reddyโs leadership.
