YSRCP, Oppn gear up for victory celebrations

Must read

As the clock ticks down to the final result of the 2024 general elections in Andhra Pradesh, the air is thick with anticipation. Across the State, citizens are abuzz with speculation about which political party will claim the mandate and form the government for the next five years. The contest is razor-thin, with both the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Opposition NDA bloc (comprising TDP, BJP, and JSP) expressing confidence in their victory, leaving the electorate on the edge of their seats.
In a few short hours, the suspense will break, revealing whether YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSRCP will continue his tenure or if N Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP will make a comeback after a five-year hiatus. The General Administration Department (GAD) officials are in a frenzy, uncertain about the location of the impending swearing-in ceremony.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has preemptively announced his intention to take the oath in Visakhapatnam, which he has designated as his administrative capital. YSRCP leaders are debating the ideal venue, with suggestions including Kalavani Stadium and Andhra University Engineering College Grounds in Visakhapatnam.
Conversely, TDP leader and former Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has asserted their commitment to Amaravati as the capital. He insists that the swearing-in ceremony for Naidu, should he win, will occur near the former Praja Vedika, adjacent to Naidu’s residence in Vundavalli.
Both parties have already made grand preparations to celebrate their anticipated victories. At the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, a digital countdown clock has been ticking down to noon on June 4, symbolizing their confidence. Party state general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has called on leaders and supporters to gather by 10 AM, ready to celebrate at their respective party offices, adhering to the Model Code of Conduct and Section 144 in force.
The TDP, not to be outdone, has planned a massive celebration. Sources reveal that a colossal cake awaits cutting by Chandrababu Naidu, with mountains of sweets and colorful fireworks ready to light up the evening sky. The party’s headquarters is a hive of activity as they prepare for a jubilant declaration of victory.
On the ground, individual candidates are also prepping for celebrations. Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, contesting from Vijayawada Central, has reportedly arranged a grand fête to mark his expected victory as soon as results are announced.
As Andhra Pradesh stands on the cusp of a new political chapter, the enthusiasm and preparations underscore the high stakes and intense competition.
Whether it’s the YSRCP or the NDA bloc that emerges triumphant, one thing is certain: the celebrations will be as grand as the anticipation that preceded them.
