YSRCP releases poster over remunerative prices for paddy

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has unveiled a poster announcing a State-wide campaign on December 13 to demand fair prices for paddy and express solidarity with farmers.
The poster, titled “YSRCP in Support of Farmers”, was released on Wednesday by senior party leaders, including former Ministers Ambati Rambabu and Vellampalli Srinivas, MLCs Lella Appireddy and Ruhulla, and others. The campaign aims to urge the state government to procure paddy at remunerative prices and address the pressing issues faced by the farming community.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambati Rambabu criticised the coalition government for neglecting farmers, especially in the aftermath of recent cyclones and untimely rains that have damaged crops. He accused the government of failing to procure even 10 percent of paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), leaving farmers to sell their produce at distressingly low rates due to inadequate storage facilities.
The YSRCP leaders emphasised the need for immediate action to alleviate farmers’ hardships and demanded that the state take responsibility for ensuring MSP for paddy.
As part of the campaign, the party will submit memoranda to district collectors across the state, highlighting the government’s apathy towards the agricultural sector.
