The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) organised statewide ‘Rythu Poru’ protests, reaffirming its commitment to addressing farmers’ issues. Demonstrations were held in all districts, with rallies culminating in the submission of memorandums to district authorities, demanding immediate action on key agricultural challenges.
In Srikakulam, the rally, led by Pirya Vijay and Minister Dr Seediri Appalaraju, began at Jyotirao Phule Park and concluded at the Collectorate, where a memorandum was handed over to Joint Collector Ahmed Khan. Around 400 people participated.
In Parvathipuram Manyam, YSRCP leaders Pushpa Srivani and Palavalasa Vikrant led a rally to the Collectorate, submitting their demands to Joint Collector Shobhak.
In Vizianagaram, district president Majji Srinivasarao, along with leaders Botsa Appalanarsayya and Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swami, spearheaded a rally from Cantonment to the Collectorate. The event drew a massive crowd of 2,000.
In Visakhapatnam, Gudivada Amarnath and Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar led 700 participants in a rally from ZP Junction Krishna Mandiram to the Collectorate.
In East Godavari, Margani Bharat and Jakkampudi Raja led a rally from Bomuru party office to the Collectorate, with over 700 participants showing their support.
In West Godavari, more than 1,000 participants joined a rally from VISTA Koduru Road to the Collectorate, highlighting the district’s robust support for farmers.
In Guntur, a rally led by former Minister Ambati Rambabu, along with MLC Murugudu Hanumantha Rao and Modugula Venugopala Reddy, marched from Dharna Chowk to the Collectorate, bringing farmers’ concerns to the fore.
In Krishna district, leaders like Simhadri Ramesh (Avanigadda) and Devabhaktuni Chakravarti (Penamaluru) led a rally in Machilipatnam, drawing over 500 participants.
In Kurnool, former MLA SV Mohan Reddy and MLA Bala Nagireddy led a significant rally from Dharna Chowk to the Collectorate, with strong participation from farmers.
In Nellore, former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, along with former MLA Ramireddy Pratap Kumar Reddy and MLC Parvata Reddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, led a rally from VRC Centre. The event witnessed enthusiastic support from the farming community.
The protests underscored YSRCP’s solidarity with farmers and their resolve to address agricultural issues.
