MP Sri Krishnadevarayalu has said that the YSRCP will insist on the Union government fulfilling bifurcation promises to Andhra Pradesh during the ongoing Parliamentary Budget session. Along with MP Dr M Gurumurthy, he addressed media persons at AP Bhavan in Delhi on Monday.

On the occasion, Krishnadevarayalu said that although the statistics say that Rs 8,500 crore was allocated, they want the Railway department to provide details of the spending. The Railways is making excuses that money cannot be given for land acquisition. However, the Centre is talking about issues prior to 2014, but they are not mentioning anything after State bifurcation and the financial condition of the State. He requested renegotiation and changes in the State’s share. He said that they will raise these issues strongly in the ongoing Parliament session.

In the case of national highways, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy suggested that plans be made to reach the national highway from every Assembly constituency within half an hour, Krishnadevarayalu said. Tirupati MP Gurumurthy said, since Tirupati is a temple town, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy brought to the notice of Union Minister Gadkari when he visited Vijayawada to improve the bus station. Accordingly, proposals are being prepared for a model bus stand with Rs 500 crore.

He said that a proposal was made to study the feasibility of a ropeway in Tirupati and also a proposal was prepared for a ropeway in Srikalahasti. The MP recalled that during the CM’s visit to Delhi, he asked Union Minister Amit Shah to set up a Central Forensic University in Tirupati, and the file is with the Directorate of Women’s Security and there is a possibility that it will materialise.

The MP further said that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Brahmotsavam calendar is not shown in national festival portals and national tourism calendar.

Gurumurthy said that as per their request, it was included in the festival portals. For Srikalahasti – Nadikudi Railway works Rs 220 crore was sanctioned but pressure would be brought on the Union government for allotment of more funds.
