YSRCP’s Appaji, Rajesh, Adilakshmi likely to join JSP on Sep 22

Must read

Amidst the shifting political landscape in the State and NTR district, several YSRCP corporators from the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation are reportedly planning to switch allegiances to the Jana Sena Party (JSP), led by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development K Pawan Kalyan. As a result, JSP will get its representatives in the VMC council, as the party had no representation so far.
As of now, YSRCP, TDP and CPM have corporators in the VMC council. However, Corporator Bulla Vijay Kumar switched sides to BJP from YSRCP before the general elections. After NDA came to power, six corporators joined TDP from YSRCP.
As a result of the recent changes in politics in the State, many people’s representatives have quit YSRCP and showed their interest in joining either TDP, BJP or JSP. Following the trend, YSRCP Corporators Mahadevu Appaji, Marupilla Rajesh and A Adilakshmi are likely to quit the party and join JSP on September 22.
On Thursday, former YSRCP MLA and former Government Whip Samineni Udayabhanu met JSP State secretary and Vijayawada constituency in-charge Ammisetti Vasu at his office. Later, he held a crucial discussion with party chief Pawn Kalyan, after which Udaya Bhanu announced that he would join JSP on September 22.
During the discussions between Udayabhanu and Vasu, Mahadevu Appaji, Marupilla Rajesh, Adilakshmi’s husband Pedababu, former Corporator Bahadur and others met these leaders. They expressed their consent to join JSP. With this development, JSP will get its representation in the VMC council.
According to sources, these corporators will join BJP along with former MLA Samineni Udayabhanu in the presence of Pawan Kalyan. Also, many other VMC corporators are willing to join the party, the sources added.

Thota Srinivas quits YSRCP
Meanwhile, YSRCP State secretary and Kapu community leader Thota Srinivas tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the party. After conducting a meeting with his followers in Vijayawada, he said that he will join the Jana Sena Party (JSP) in the presence of Pawan Kalyan on September 22. Srinivas’s resignation is a big setback to YSRCP.
