As part of its efforts to garner support from all sections of society in the run-up to the 2024 General Elections, the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has announced its plans to hold a Muslim conclave on July 23 in Kurnool,.

Following the successful ‘BC Garjana’ event held in Vijayawada, which received an overwhelming response from BCs across Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP high-command is now focusing on other communities to ensure continued support for the welfare and development agenda of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Preparations are underway for the Minority conclave, which is expected to draw Muslim community members from across the State.

YSRCP State coordinator and national general secretary, V Vijayasai Reddy, shared with The Pioneer that the conclave will be a significant event and the party is yet to finalise an appropriate name for the programme.

Anticipating a turnout of over one lakh people, he said that all arrangements will be made, taking into account the expected attendance and the current rainy season.

Vijayasai Reddy also announced the YSRCP plans to organise separate ‘Maha Garjana’ programmes for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in August.

On August 9, coinciding with Adivasi Day, a ‘Maha Garjana’ event will be held for the Schedule Tribes, followed by a similar event for the Schedule Castes in the last week of August.

Expressing the party’s intent for the upcoming polls, surpass the 50 percent vote share with confidence. Vijayasai Reddy confirmed that the YSRCP will contest without forming any alliances, driven by the ambitious goal of turning ‘Why Not 175’ into a reality. He said that in the last elections in 2019 the party secured 49.5 percent votes and in 2024 elections they would get much more than 50 per cent vote share.

When questioned about the recently released TDP manifesto, the YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP dismissed it as detached from reality. He alleged that the TDP had copied and pasted manifesto ideas from other parties, intending to deceive and misguide the people.

Vijayasai Reddy reiterated that Jagan 2.0, in 2024, will bring further welfare measures for the underprivileged and promote development without making false promises or commitments. He highlighted that over 98 percent of the promises made by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government have already been fulfilled, fostering unwavering faith among the people in the YSRCP administration.
