After the massive success of the YSRCP regional meeting ‘Siddham’ at Sangivalasa Village in Visakhapatnam on Saturday evening, arrangements are in full swing for the second regional meeting in the coastal districts of East and West Godavari and Krishna that is scheduled on February 1 or 3. Incharge YSRCP leader and the Member of Lok Sabha PV Midhun Reddy is personally motoring the arrangements for the meeting that will be held in Eluru.
The YSRCP high command has entrusted the responsibility of the two crucial districts namely East and West Godavari districts to the Lok Sabha member and the MP has been playing a key role in getting a majority of seats in these two districts which has more Kapu community voters.
However, the opposition TDP-JanaSena is also banking on the Kapu voters in these two districts.
Interestingly the twin Godavari districts that have 34 Assembly seats play a crucial role in deciding which political party wins in the elections. It can be recalled that the YSRCP lost in the 2014 elections due to poor show in these two districts, while in 2019 the party won 28 Assembly seats out of 34 giving the YSRC a landslide victory.
YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy aims to win all 34 seats in the upcoming 2024 elections in these two districts. The CM appointed MP Midhun Reddy around one and half years ago as the coordinator of these districts and he has a hilarious task for which he has been closely monitoring every aspect of the districts. Interestingly during the recent announcement of candidates, the party leadership has changed a few sitting MLAs for various reasons. The coordinator has been in touch with those leaders who were denied seats and ensured that the party will take care of them with other suitable positions.
For the second regional meeting, an ideal location of 100 acres has been finalised which is about 5 km from Eluru town to accommodate the party leaders, cadre and others. Traffic and parking issues are also taken care of, according to the party leaders.
Speaking to The Pioneer, MP PV Midhun Reddy said that as part of the elections campaign, the second regional meeting ‘Siddham’ will be organised at Eluru in a big way bigger than the meeting at Sangivalasa in Vizag. He said that they are expecting more than 2 lakh gathering for the meeting and he is personally monitoring the arrangements to ensure there are no traffic and parking problems. He said that he is closely coordinating with the party leaders from the grassroots level and the party MLAs and MPs for the success of the meeting.
