Zareen gets papers for land in Jubilee Hills

Boxer Nikhat Zareen of Telangana has been allotted 600 square yards of land in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills on behalf of the Sports Authority of Telangana. On Monday Sports Minister V. Srinivas Goud and Sports Authority of Telangana State VC and MD Sandeep Kumar Sultania handed over documents allotting a 600 square yards plot in the name of world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen in his chamber at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad. Jameel Ahmed, the father of Nikhat Zareen, accepted the documents on behalf of her as she is at the national training camp for the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships scheduled in New Delhi from March 15 to 26. Mohammad Jameel Ahmed was allotted a 600-yard house in Jubilee Hills on behalf of the sports department and documents were handed over to him, said Minister Srinivas. Earlier, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced a reward of Rs 2 crore and land for a house in Banjara Hills. Minister Srinivas also assured a Group-1 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) job for Nikhat. The Nizamabad boxer is the first from the State and also from South India to become the world champion in the 52-kg category. She also won the gold medal in the women’s 50-kg category at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
