1.75 lakh farmers benefit in Siddipet

In all, the state government’s loan waiver will benefit 1,75,719 farmers to the tune of Rs 1360.48 crore, according to Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil.

Reviewing the loan waiver implementation with bankers and agriculture officials at Collectorate here on Wednesday, the state government credited Rs 409.22 crore in the bank accounts of 79,178 farmers who took crop loans up to Rs 99,999. So far, Rs 359.09 crore has been credited into the bank accounts of 70,770 farmers. As some bank accounts of some farmers have been closed, the amount is not credited, he explained.

He wanted the bankers and agriculture officials to send the list of farmers whose crop loans have been waived to villages and transfer the amount from loan account into savings account in respect of the farmers whose accounts did not receive loan waiver funds.

Similarly, loans above Rs 1 lakh and more would be waived soon. Lead Bank Manager Satyajit has been asked to appoint a nodal officer to each bank to monitor the process of loan waiver.

The Collector told the meeting that he would be reviewing the loan waiver every week.

To get new loans or to renew the existing loans, each farmer should submit his or her passportz-sized photo, pattadar passbook photocopy, bank passbook photocopy, Aadhaar card photocopy to the banks on the dates suggested by Agriculture officials.

Later, additional collector (local bodies”) Garima Agarwal discussed about street vendorloans with bankers.

MEPMA agriculture official Siva Prasad, PD MEPMA Hanumantha Reddy, APGV B Regional manager Asalata, UBI chief Manager Aalam, otherbank officials and others were present.
