Minister for Finance T Harish Rao on Wednesday greeted people on the occasion of the Rakhi festival.
Talking to media, he wished that the brothers and sisters should celebrate the occasion happily and share their love and bonding for each other. It is a symbol of fraternal affection, he said.
He said that Siddipet constituency set an example for others to emulate. All measures were taken by the municipality to ban plastics use, he said, exhorting the people to use rakhi made of flowers. He asked the people to tie the eco-friendly rakhis.
He congratulated the women of Siddipeta for promoting eco-friendly rakhis.
Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday explained the significance of Rakhi festival.
Hailing the celebration of the festival as one of the best traditional practices, he wished that the bonds of fraternity grow stronger among the people.
He said that the celebration of the festival is an ancient practice, he greeted the people on the occasion.
