As part of the government’s wider environmental agenda, the Chief Minister announced a massive plantation drive aimed at planting one crore saplings across Andhra Pradesh on 5 June, World Environment Day. He urged ministers, district collectors and elected representatives to actively participate. He emphasised plantation in schools, hospitals, bus stations, government offices and along roadsides, with proper tree guards. “Our green cover has increased from 29% to 30.5% in the past year. We aim to reach 37% by 2033 and 50% by 2047, with an annual increase of at least 1.5%,” he stated. He also called for satellite-based monitoring, geotagging of each sapling, and nurturing of planted trees.

Naidu encouraged CSR participation in afforestation efforts, particularly in reserved forest areas, and instructed that the reserved forests in Amaravati be developed using the Miyawaki method for faster results. The review meeting was attended by Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnamraju, and MLAs Kamineni Srinivas, Dharma Raju, and Chintamaneni Prabhakar, among other senior officials
