100-bed ESI hospital opened

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 100-bed ESI hospital virtually on Sunday. The ESI hospital was constructed at a cost of Rs 114 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Vanga Geeta said that the workers in the Kakinada region, which is expanding rapidly in the industrial and service sectors, used to have to go to ESI Hospital in Rajahmundry for medical services. With the opening of a 100-bed hospital in Kakinada with state-of-the-art facilities, around 60,000 workers and 2.50 lakh of their families would get better medical facilities in the ESI hospital here.
She expressed happiness that better medical services have become available here. The MP thanked the Union Labour Minister for sanctioning funds for the construction of the hospital. The MP congratulated the regional labour commissionerate, engineers and contractors for completing the construction of the hospital within four years despite many obstacles including the coronavirus pandemic.
MP Vanga Geeta said that along with the ESI hospital, the construction of an integrated Ayush hospital in the Kakinada rural area would be completed soon. The MP stated that with the financial support of RMC Alumni in Kakinada GGH, a super speciality department for mother and child would be constructed soon at a cost of Rs 30 crore.
She said that a trauma care centre was set up in the GGH here at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore and a cath lab was also set up by spending another Rs 7.5 crore, adding that the construction of a Rs 25 crore Kendriya Vidyalaya building is underway. The construction works of the south campus of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade will begin soon on the SEZ here.
MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy appreciated MP Vanga Geeta stating that she made persistent efforts for the construction of ESI hospital here. MLA Kurasala Kanna Babu said that the workers in the coastal area would get better medical services through the newly established ESI hospital.
MLC Nallamilli Sesha Reddy also spoke. MLC Karri Padma Sri, KUDA chairperson Ragireddy Chandrakala Deepthi, JC CV Pravin Aditya BJP state secretary K Kashi Viswanatha Raju and district president Chilukuri Ram Kumar, Labour Union president Dwarampudi Veerabhadra Reddy, South zone insurance commissioner Rajesh Kumar Jain and ESI superintendent Dr. M Radhika were among those who were present.
