10K Democracy Run organised to boost voter participation

A 10K Democracy Run was organised to boost Voter Participation in the city. This event commenced with a signature campaign launch at Mansoorabad Pedda Cheruvu at 6.30 am on Saturday. A large number of people took part in the run.
The procession passed through various residential colonies including Bhavani Nagar, Saraswati Nagar, and Aditya Nagar, the runners travelled through the streets of Mansoorabad Chowrastha, SouthEnd Park, GSI, Bandlaguda, and Anand Nagar before concluding at the Ajanta Ace gated community.
Joined by residents along the route, nearly 2000 individuals stopped to learn about the importance of voting and cheered on the participants, demonstrating support despite the summer rains.
Covering key areas such as Nagole, Sai Nagar, Rock Town Colony, and Mansoorabad village, the runners spread to revive the democratic spirit as Telangana approaches election day. The event lead with a collective “Pledge to Vote” by both the runners and participants, symbolizing their dedication to democratic participation.
Let’s Vote,  a political nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting voter awareness since 2008, teamed up with LB Nagar Runners, a subgroup of the Hyderabad Runners Society conducted this 10K Democracy Run aimed to enhancing civic engagement ahead of the upcoming elections in Telangana.
Founder Member of Let’s Vote, Sheela Panicker said,”The significance of initiatives like the 10K Democracy Run, signifies the collective journey of the Indian electorate towards shaping the future of our nation through the Power of Voting.”
Panicker also said, “plans are made to conduct more walks, runs, and debates in residential colonies to engage with citizens in smaller groups, aiming to effectively promote the importance of voting and increase the voting percentage. Currently, a democracy walk is planned on May 4 covering Malkajgiri, and on April 27 at Guntur”.
10K Democracy Run in LB Nagar successfully raised awareness about the crucial role of voting, uniting a diverse range of community members, covering the LB Nagar area. Sheela Panicker extended her gratitude to LB Nagar Runners Association for actively participating in celebrating the festival of democracy.
