Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj hailed the response to the special campaign day held on Sunday across Telangana with 1,32, 036 new voters filing up Form-6.
The 15 Assembly constituencies in the GHMC area also saw a huge response, he said. There were about 15,044 applications under Form-7 for registering for inclusion or deletion of names from voter lists. About 42,640 applications were received on Form-8 for shifting of residence or correction of entries.
During the two-day special campaign, 2,476 individuals submitted Form-6 applications to enrol as voters. Additionally, 29 applications were received on Form-7 for objections to proposed inclusion or deletion of names in existing voters’ lists. 476 applications were submitted on Form-8 for the shifting of residence or corrections.
GHMC Commissioner Ronald Ross spearheaded the two-day special campaign.
The special campaign resulted in 4,522 new voter applications, accompanied by 64 objections and 869 applications for residence shifting or corrections.
3,986 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) had been appointed across 3,986 polling stations in the 15 Assembly constituencies.
The enthusiastic participation of people in the 5K run also resulted in a substantial number of new voter applications reflecting the area’s vibrant democratic spirit.
