14,954 posts sanctioned for absorbing VRAs in Govt service

The government has sanctioned 14,954 new posts for absorbing Village Revenue Assistants in government service. The Finance Department gave its permission for this on Friday.
The Government accorded sanction for the creation of 14,954 posts/supernumerary posts of various categories in various departments. The Revenue Department was asked to take action in the matter accordingly.

As per orders released by Finance Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, the government has decided to convert the services of 16,758 VRAs who have not attained the age of 61 into full-time, absorbing them in government departments, against the categories of Last Grade Service/Record Assistant/Junior Assistant or equivalent categories as per their qualifications and give them regular pay scales and to provide compassionate appointments to the sons/daughters of 3,797 Village Revenue Assistants who are continuing in service beyond the age of 61.

The Revenue Department has requested to create 2,451 posts of Junior Assistants in the Revenue Department, 1,266 posts of Ward Officer in the Junior Assistant category in the MA&UD Department, 2,113 posts of Record Assistant in the Revenue Department, 679 posts of Office Subordinate/Chainman in the Revenue Department, 5,073 posts of Laskar /Helper in the I&CAD Department and 3,372 posts of Helper in the Mission Bhagiratha Department on regular pay scales.
