A new fight has started between the BRS government and the Governor, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, over the Bill authorising the TS government to take over the TSRTC (The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Absorption of Employees into Government Service) Bill, 2023).

Telangana Majdur Union gave a call to strike for two hours on Saturday from morning 6 am to 8 am demanding that the Governor approve the bill.

The TMU is also going to stage a protest at Raj Bhavan and gave a call to workers to come to Necklace Road at 10 am and protest at 11am at Raj BhavanThe government sent the Cabinet resolution on the TSRTC merger with the government to the Governor for her approval on August 2. But the Governor responded saying that she requires some more time to examine it and obtain legal opinion for taking a decision.

However, the government decided to wind up the Assembly’s monsoon session on Sunday. The government is now in a dilemma on whether the Governor will approve the Bill or not before Sunday as the Bill has financial implications. The government has been saying that it sent the Bill to the Governor after drafting it. The government says that the Governor is adopting delaying tactics by not revealing her opinion on the Bill.

The BRS government is also saying that the Governor is trying to block the Bill like some earlier Bills to create trouble for the government and TSRTC employees.

The Raj Bhavan responded to the BRS government’s allegation and has released a communiqué regarding this.

The communiqué said, “The Assembly was scheduled to meet on 03.08.2023 and the Draft of ‘The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Absorption of Employees into Government Service) Bill, 2023,’ was received at the Raj Bhavan on 02.08.2023 at about 03.30 pm requesting permission to introduce it in the Assembly. It requires some time to examine it and obtain legal opinion for taking a decision.”

Meanwhile, TPCC Campaign Committee Chairman Madhu Yashki Goud said that KCR has prepared a big plan behind merging the TSRTC into the government.

He said that KCR planned to loot the TSRTC’s assets and introduce the electrical buses of his friend Megha Krishna Reddy into the TSRTC. He said that IT Minister KTR also has a share in the deal.
