Minister for Excise and Mines Kollu Ravindra has said that 1500 new buses are being inducted into the APSRTC soon.
The Minister flagged off five new services of RTC buses in the RTC depot here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kollu Ravindra said that the government aimed to induct 1500 new buses into the fleet of RTC buses and so far 200 new buses have been inducted. The Machilipatnam depot was allocated five new buses, he added. More RTC bus services would be introduced on the demand of people, he assured.
He slammed that the previous YSRCP regime crippled the APSRTC and put the organization in the debt-trap. The Chandrababu Naidu-headed government is taking all steps to bolster the organization.
“The government will soon implement free bus travel for women in the state. Making all efforts to improve the passenger facilities in the Machili patnam bus station,” he made it clear. Minister Kollu Ravindra said that efforts are being made to resolve the sewerage problem in the town permanently in a planner manner.
Machilipatnam RTC depot manager Peddiraju said that out of the five buses which were flagged off today, two buses would run as BHEL service to Hyderabad while three buses would run as non-stop service between Machili patnam and Vijayawada.
