2.08L MT of paddy purchased so far: Collector

District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh said that purchase of paddy produce in the Kharif through Rythu Bharosa Kendras in the district has expedited.

Collector Prasanna Venkatesh along with Sub-vollector Aadharsh Rajendran conducted a surprise inspection of Rythu Bharosa Kendra and Government Primary Health Centre in Boorugagudem of Chatrai Mandal on Tuesday.

The process of purchase of paddy through RBK was examined. In this observation, the manner of collection of paddy from farmers, purchase of paddy at RBK stage, details of bags made available at RBK, details of paddy samples were inquired from the officials and staff.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that 2.08 lakh metric tons of paddy produce worth Rs 425 crores has been purchased so far in Eluru district.

“Rs.123 crores have been deposited in the respective farmers’ accounts till now”, he added. The Collector later inspected the oil palm plantation cultivated under the drip irrigation method. Ananda Bapiraju in Boorugagudem inspected the oil palm cultivated through drip irrigation along with the officials.

Later, a surprise inspection was conducted at the Government Primary Health Centre. In the hospital, fans, lights, delivery lab, ward, vaccination room, distribution of medicines to patients, and hospital sanitation were inspected. When the Collector inquired about the OPs of the hospital, Dr.Leelaben and Jamino told the Collector that 80 OPs come to the hospital daily.

Dr. A. Srinivasa Reddy, Agriculture AO Sivashankar, MPDO Murali Mohan, AP Cooperative Union Chairman Desireddy Raghavareddy, Micro Irrigation PD Ravikumar, District Horticulture Department Officer Panduranga and others were present.
