2 devotees among 3 killed in 2 accidents

Two Bhavani devotees were among three persons killed in two road accidents which took place in Nellore and Palnadu districts. Police said that two Bhavani devotees were killed when a lorry hit the auto-rickshaw in which 18 Bhavani were travelling at Sunnapubatti centre in Dagadarti mandal on the night of Monday.

The Bhavani devotees participated in a ‘bhajan’ programme at Chandramoulinagar in Kovuru mandal. When they were going back to their native village Alluru Singapet, a container lorry hit their auto rickshaw, killing Narayanamma and Varadaiah who took ‘Bhavani Deeksha’ vows.

Five persons were injured in the accident and they were admitted to the area hospital in Kavali. The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem.

In another accident, one person was killed and another was critically injured when an unidentified vehicle hit their bike at the secretariat office on Narasaraopet road in Vinukonda in the wee hours on Tuesday.

Police said that the deceased Palavelli Srinivasa Rao (37) was going to his field along with his brother-in on the bike. An unidentified vehicle hit their bike killing Srinivasa Rao instantly. His brother-in-law Fhanidam Ramanjaneyulu was critically injured in the incident and he was undergoing treatment in the GGH.
