In a tragic incident, two engineering students drowned at the sea at Perupalem beach in Mogalturu mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday. Mogalturu SI said that a group of 12 engineering students of Bhimavaram Institute of Engineering and Technology located in Pennada mandal, went to the beach to spend the holiday.
In the evening, some of them ventured into the sea to have a bath. Two of them drowned in the sea. The body of Kandukuri Lohit Manikantha (19) was washed ashore. Lohit Manikantha was studying second-year engineering.
A search was launched to trace the body of another student, Likit (18).
