Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will distribute Registered Conveyance Deeds to 20,840 poor women with full rights and sanctioning houses in Ongole Municipal Corporation limits, Prakasam district, on Friday, marking the formal launch of distribution of conveyance deeds for free house sites registered in the names of poor women, giving full rights on the lands to 31.19 lakh women beneficiaries, under ‘Navaratnalu-Pedalandariki Illu’ across the State.
Fulfilling the dream of poor women to own a house, the Jagan Government has not only distributed more than 31 lakh house pattas but also, for the first time in the country, has given full rights to the beneficiaries on those lands and is providing conveyance deeds after registering them in their names, free of cost.
The officials say that the Conveyance Deed will provide full rights on the house site after 10 years. Accordingly, conveyance deeds are being provided now with free registration in the Village/ Ward Secretariat itself.  The registration process is being carried out in 15,004 village/ward secretariats across the State. So far, about 15 lakh registrations have been completed, and the remaining registrations are being completed at a rapid pace.
All land details are securely stored in the database of the Joint Sub Registrar Office (JSRO) located in village/ward secretariats. Beneficiaries can obtain certified copies of their land records from these JSROs at any time. Thus eliminating the possibility of forgery or tampering with the records. After ten years, beneficiaries will gain complete rights to their house sites, which include buying, selling, donating, and inheritance. In case of necessity, they can sell their house sites without any need for approval from authorities or No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Andhra Pradesh is one of the top states in the country in providing pucca houses to the poor. In Andhra Pradesh, 31.19 lakh women have been granted free house site pattas across 17,005 layouts spanning 71,811 acres, marking a pioneering effort in India to empower women. The value of each plot ranges from Rs 2.5 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs. Even if the minimum value is calculated at Rs 2.5 lakhs, the value of the house site pattas itself is more than Rs 76,000 crores.
CM Jagan Government has so far completed the construction of 8.9 lakh houses and handed them over to the beneficiaries. Basic amenities such as water supply, electricity, drainage, sewerage, and roads are provided in 17,005 YSR-Jagananna colony layouts across the state, at a cost of Rs 32,909 crores.
