2,268 red sanders logs seized

The Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) officials have seized 2,268 red sander logs, weighing 49,967 Metric Tonnes so far during the year 2022.

The RSASTF Superintendent of police K Chakravarthi told the media here on Friday that during the year 2022, till December 23, the task force had seized 2,268 red sander logs and registered 180 cases. The task force had also arrested 281 persons and seized 50 vehicles, he stated.

The RSASTF Superintendent said that the task force had paid sustainable and comprehensive efforts to combat and curb the Red Sanders smugglers from the Forests, the influx from the neighbouring states, and also to control the menace of illegal Red Sanders smuggling in AP State.

“During this year-2022 the Task Force has achieved progress in Operations in fields and plain areas. When comparing the combing operations of this year with that of the Last year, The task force had enhanced more than 1,396 Operations during this year.2022. The RSASTF would intensify combing operations to control the inflow of RS smugglers into AP Forests,” Chakravarti said.

“The Technology support like usage of I-SAT phones, and CC Cameras installation will be taken over in RS core Divisions which are very vulnerable entry and exit points. Inter-state operations will be intensified in the coming -2023. The Inter-state Coordination meeting will be held soon,” he said.
