27 girl students fall ill after consuming food in Gurukula school

As many as 27 girl students of Dr. BR Ambedkar Gurukula School, located at Madduvalasa Village in Vangara mandal, fell ill after having dinner on Tuesday night.

Officials sources said that after having dinner in the residential school on the night of Tuesday the girls complained of vomiting and motions. The doctors and medical staff of Primary Health Centre went to the Gurukula school and provided medical treatment to the girls on Wednesday.

As the condition of six girls was serious they were admitted to a hospital in Rajam. The condition of the rest of the 21 girl students is stable, officials said. Vangara Tahsildar Ijack, MPP Suresh Mukharjee went to the residential school and inquired about the food poisoning incident. The parents of the girl students alleged that since the school staff did not follow hygienic conditions and quality in the food the girls fell ill.
