As many as 30 members of the staff of a private school had a miraculous escape when the school bus in which they were travelling plunged into an irrigation canal at Aravapalem village on Monday.
Police said that school faculty and other members of the staff went to attend a function in the school bus. When they were going to Atmakur in the bus, the bus veered off the road and plunged into the Southern Canal. The local people rescued those who were trapped in the bus. However some of them suffered minor injuries and they were taken to a local hospital. The canal was full of water when the incident took place. The officials heaved a sigh of relief as all escaped safely.
