Minister for Home Affairs and Disaster Management Taneti Vanitha handed over the cheque for Rs 10 lakh to the family of a rape victim who committed suicide at Nibhanupudi of Pamarru mandal in Krishna district.
Minister Vanitha, along with Minister for Housing Jogi Ramesh and Pamarru MLA Kaile Anil Kumar, visited the victim’s family members and consoled them on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Vanitha said it was a painful incident and expressed grief over the death of the minor girl. She condemned the rape incident and assured that the government would stand with her family.
Learning about the minor girl’s death, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for her family, she said. The police have arrested the accused.
