31 tri-scooters distributed to differently-abled people

Along with NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao, MLA V Srinivasa Rao and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi distributed 31 tri-scooters worth Rs.37.20 lakh to differently abled people, at the collectorate in Vijayawada on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector Dilli Rao said that the State government was giving top priority to the welfare of differently-abled people. As part of this, the State government sanctioned 70 try-scooters for the seven assembly constituencies. For that, around 200 applications have been received from across the district and after transparent verification, the first batch of beneficiaries was identified, he added.

Further, he stated that 31 beneficiaries belonging to three assembly constituencies in the city have been sanctioned tri-scooters. The beneficiaries belong to the age group of 18-45 years, possess SSC qualification and have 70 per cent disability, he said.

Vijayawada West MLA V Srinivasa Rao said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was striving for the all-round development of the State. He is implementing several development and welfare schemes for the people.
YSRCP Vijayawada East in-charge Devineni Avinash, VMC Deputy Mayor Bellam Durga, Differently Abled People Welfare Department Chairperson Munthaj Pathan, AD V Kamaraju, Corporators P Rajesh, M Appaji, B Koti Reddy and others were present.

Rs.11.40 lakh presented to tribal beneficiaries
In another meeting, Collector Dilli Rao presented cheques worth Rs.11.40 lakh to the tribal beneficiaries as financial aid for conducting house repairs and electrification. As many as 32 tribal people (Chenchu) who are living at Jakkampudi YSR Colony received a cheque of Rs.6.99 lakh for house electrification. Also, Yanadi tribal people who are living at Kavuluru received a cheque of Rs.4.41 lakh under the matching grants to the Jaganna houses.
