The Godavari river is in spate. Due to heavy rains, heavy flood water is coming into the river from the catchment areas as well as the upper areas. Godavari flows at 48 feet at Bhadrachalam. Bhadradri Kothagudem recorded 224mm rainfall on Wednesday.
Authorities issued the first danger warning when it crossed 44 feet in the afternoon. At present, it has reached 48 feet and issued a second danger warning.
Officials expect the flow of Godavari to increase further as heavy rains continue in the surrounding areas. If it reaches 53 feet, the third danger warning will be issued. As the Godavari is flowing furiously, the flood water has already entered the vicinity of the temple. Rain water entered the Annadana Satram.
