Kriti Sanon has come a long way in her journey ever since this outsider made her debut in the industry 9 years ago, and today she is winning one of the most prestigious awards for Best Actress as she won the 69th National Award for her phenomenal performance in Mimi and the actress has celebrated the mega achievement with her closest ones since it was announced, and last night the actress hosted a small celebration with her team and closest friends.
Director Laxman Utekar and Producer Dinesh Vijan of the film Mimi too attended the party. As soon as they walked in, the actress gave them the tightest possible hug, marking it a very heartwarming moment. Mimi has etched as one of the most iconic films of Indian Cinema and Kriti Sanon’s stardom has truly leveled up after this.
As per sources close to her film, Mimi, Kriti is hosting an intimate gathering for the team of the film, the Maddock team and her own team and some close friends to celebrate the National Award with the people who made it all possible. It will be held at her house today evening.
On the day the award was announced, Kriti Sanon decided to just take the moment in with her family and closest ones in the comfort of her home as they ordered in pizzas. She also was seen going to Siddhivinayak Temple with her family to offer her prayers for the win and even distributed prasad to the photographers outside as well as the street kids who she also nicely posed with.
Mimi has etched its place as iconic film in Indian cinema, especially made memorable due to the lead star, Kriti Sanon and her impeccable performance as the titular character. Be it the dance number Param Sundari or her bold and upfront personality or her well portrayed character arc in the film, Kriti really ate the cake with this one and became established as a top notch performer along with being the big star she always was.
She left no stone unturned in her prep for the film as the actress gained 15 kgs to play a surrogate mother and to portray it with complete trueness, even though she faced quite the challenge with when she had to lose all the weight while moving on to her next projects. She also worked intricately on her dialect and truly lost herself in the character of Mimi, and is clearly winning all the sweet fruits for her over the top efforts.
Kriti shared the Best Actress award with Alia Bhatt who won for Gangubai Kathiawadi. The two actresses have been ruling the roost for a while now, and continue to be two of the biggest actresses in Indian entertainment currently. Today, this win for the actresses is even bigger, considering both of them solely led their respective films and showed the power that female in cinema have today.
On the work front, Kriti will next be seen in ‘Ganapath part 1’, a robotic love story with Shahid Kapoor, ‘The Crew’ with Kareena Kapoor Khan along with her maiden production venture, ‘Do Patti’ which also stars her in the lead along with Kajol.
