52 firearms surrendered in a day: DEO Ronald Rose

Following the implementation of Election code issued by the Election Commission of India, 52 licensed Firearms were surrendered in a single day in the district.
A significant cash of Rs.12,17,000 were seized during a 24-hour period inspection from Friday 6 am to Saturday 6 am. Other items valued at Rs.63,307 and 86.07 liters of liquor are also seized, reported, District Election Officer Ronald Rose. He said, 14 complaints related to cash and other items were resolved, with nine FIRs registered.
Overall, the district has witnessed a huge number of seizures, totaling Rs.13,45,36,960 in cash and Rs.1,88,61,346 worth of other goods. In the same way, 160 cases were registered, resulting in the arrest of 155 individuals. Additionally, 19,988.77 liters of liquor were seized, and 326 complaints were addressed. 214 FIRs were registered along with seizure of 2,593 licensed firearms.

The efforts of the Flying squad teams led to the seizure of Rs 2,92,76,740 in cash, Rs. 10,36,80,530 by the Police and IT, and Rs.15,79,690 by Special Surveillance Teams (SST) respectively.
