The police seized 60 kg cannabis while being transported in an SUV and arrested 8 persons at Mothugudem village in Chintur mandal on Tuesday.
Gopala Rao told the media that on a tip-off the police conducted a checking of vehicles. They found 60 KGs of ganja was being transported from Odisha to Kerala in an SUV. Four persons were following the SUV as an escort in two motorcycles, the SI.
The seized ganja is worth Rs 1.80 lakh. The police arrested 8 persons and seized 5 mobile phones from them. The accused were being produced before the court in Rampachodavaram, the SI added.
