7,000 litres of jaggery wash destroyed, 4 held

The SEB police conducted a raid on Gunada village in Komarada mandal and destroyed 7000 litres of jaggery wash hoarded to distill country-made liquor and arrested four persons.
SEB L Upendra told the media on Monday that on the directions of SP Vikranth Patil and SEB SP Dilip Kiran, a police team and DTF personnel conducted a raid at Gunada village at the AP-Odisha border area.
The police team found jaggery wash hoarded in several drums to brew country-made liquor. They destroyed the jaggery wash. The police also seized 40 litres of country-made liquor, containers and utensils which were used to brew illicit liquor.
The police arrested K Vasanta, K Sitanna, R Tirupati and Kolaka Venkatesh for brewing country-made liquor. The accused were sent to judicial remand by the court.
