The North Zone police, in coordination with the Commissioner’s Task Force, on July 18 arrested nine Nepali nationals, including women for burglary. The police seized gold and silver jewelry along with Rs 49 lakh in cash.
The accused were identified as Shankar Maan Singh Saud aka Kamal (45) who worked as a watchman and belongs to Kailali district of Nepal; Lal Singh Thapa (47) ; Mohan Saud (43); Bharat Bista(23) who worked at a bar in Pune; Vishal Saud (24) Parvathi(35), the wife of Shankar; Sunil Chaudhry (23) Vikas Saud (20) Brijesh (23), Barsha Nath (21); Vinod Kumar (24); Bharathi Saud (39) and Pooja Saud (21).
It is to be noted that Bharath, Pooja and Bharathi are absconding. The Ramgopalpet Police arrested the accused for burglary at the residence of a businessman’s residence at Om Towers in Secunderabad. Kamal worked as a security guard at the building along with his wife Parvathi and son Vikas. Thapa and Sunil were friends with Kamal and worked as security guards at nearby apartments. The victim Rahul Goel, owns a steel business; Kamal observed that the man has a lot of wealth and planned to steal the money to lead a good life in Nepal. He shared the plan with the other accused and broke into the house on July 9. The victim and his family were away on a trip to the farm.
Addressing a press conference at the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand said, “Upon learning that the accused were from Nepal, teams of the North Zone police and the Task Force were sent to the Indo-Nepal border in order to apprehend them.”
