Young actress Sreeleela took the Telugu film industry by storm with her debut in Pelli SandaD, where she starred opposite Roshan, son of veteran actor Srikanth. Though the film didn’t perform well commercially, Sreeleela became an overnight sensation.
She then starred alongside Ravi Teja in Dhamaka, which turned out to be a massive hit. Her electrifying dance moves were one of the highlights, earning her widespread appreciation.
Following this success, Sreeleela signed multiple films, sometimes working two to three shifts a day. However, she struggled to replicate the success of Dhamaka. Films like Skanda, Aadikeshava and Extraordinary Man all bombed at the box office. Even her big-ticket project Guntur Kaaram, where she starred opposite Mahesh Babu, turned out to be an average performer. While Bhagavanth Kesari was a success, its credit largely went to Balakrishna’s star power rather than her role. Despite entering the industry with a bang, Sreeleela has faced more setbacks than hits. Now, all eyes are on her upcoming film Robinhood, where she stars opposite Nithiin for the second time. Directed by Venky Kudumula, the film is crucial for her career. Interestingly, Rashmika Mandanna was initially cast as the female lead but had to opt out due to scheduling conflicts, paving the way for Sreeleela.
“I spoke to Rashmika on the sets of Pushpa 2 and she wished me all the best,” Sreeleela revealed during promotions. With Robinhood marking her comeback after a gap, she is eagerly hoping for a much-needed box office hit. Will this film turn her fortunes around? The answer lies in the audience’s verdict!
