In recognition of their selection for the Atma Nirbhar Panchayat Special Award, part of the National Panchayat Awards 2025, several representatives from Gollapudi gram panchayat in Vijayawada Rural mandal, NTR district, met VR Krishna Teja Mailavarapu, the Commissioner of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, and P Venkata Krishna, the OSD to Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, at the Commissionerate in Tadepalli on Monday. The accolade underscores the panchayat’s significant contributions towards fostering self-sufficiency and promoting sustainable rural development.
The meeting was led by NTR District Panchayat Officer (DPO) P Lavanya Kumari. Gollapudi Gram Panchayat Special Officer and Extension Officer for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, YDV Prasad, in-charge MPDO P Murali Krishna Prasad, and Panchayat Secretary M Swaroopa were present. During their visit, officials from the NTR district and the Vijayawada Rural mandal parishad provided Commissioner Krishna Teja with explanations regarding their achievements.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Krishna Teja and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s OSD Venkata Krishna lauded Gollapudi Panchayat Special Officer Prasad and Secretary Swaroopa. They suggested that the officials maintain the same spirit in the coming days. The officials conveyed their gratitude for the recognition and engaged in discussions about ongoing and future development projects designed to enhance grassroots governance and rural infrastructure.
Vijayawada Divisional Panchayat Officer (DLPO) GLNV Raghavan and Sanitary Inspector Vani Prasad were also present.
