L&T is the main culprit in the Kaleshwaram scam, and Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy is looking into the matter, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said.
During a chit-chat with journos on Friday, he said the BRS had not realised its mistakes, even though the people had made it sit in the opposition.
He said that they would have summoned the main culprit, KCR, in the Kaleshwaram scam if the Congress government had been running the Kaleshwaram Commission. The Kaleshwaram Commission’s probe is going on independently, he said.
“Who ran the L&T? L&T is one of the main culprits. Irrigation Minister Uttam is looking into the matter. We will make all reports public after the Kaleshwaram Commission’s report comes out. We will take action after discussing all reports in the Cabinet. KCR’s 99 mistakes have already been completed, and the Kaleshwaram mistake is the 100th one,” he said.
Ponguleti said that KCR would have kept us in jail if Jurala and other projects had collapsed. The Kaleshwaram Project was not constructed as per rules. How can the barrage last if it was constructed on sand? We are not experts. KCR is an expert, and he has to write the report, he said.
He also said the Kaleshwaram Project collapsed during BRS rule. Otherwise, they would have blamed us, saying that the Congress demolished it.
Responding on the Kavitha issue, Ponguleti said that the Kavitha issue is a storm in the teacup.
“I am not such a big leader to speak about Kavitha. I never said I am number 2. I am like a drop of water in the Congress. I have no competence to speak about Kavitha even if she joins the Congress and is given a Minister post,” he said.
Ponguleti said that KTR has a good equation with the ED. He knows very well about ED. The ED never came to me, however, it went to my daughter’s residence, he said.
Kavitha has been saying that the BRS will be merged with the BJP. KTR has friends in New Delhi, he said.
He asked Kavitha to reveal who is distancing her from KCR. There is a mixed meaning in her comments. Her comments look like a family problem. Kavitha should name her devils, he said.
“There is no rule that the CM should meet Rahul whenever he goes to New Delhi. However, Rahul and Revanth meeting issue is a party matter. Revanth has good relations with Rahul. Rahul is our boss,” he said.
